Checked November 6, 2026 · Probably Stolen, Steam build 26337366
To finish Probably Stolen Cadet Serpico's story, don't report him and leave him food at the Dumping Ground when his letter asks for it. He then asks who should get his evidence of Security corruption, and you pick one of three factions. Each choice raises your standing with that faction and ends his story in its own way; only the Black Market choice also gives you a gift.

Who should Serpico give the evidence to?
Once he has his food, Serpico comes back: "I went through all the evidence I grabbed before I left. It's all compiled now." He can't take it to a Security office himself and asks, "who should I hand this document to?" You get three choices:
Choice labels, news and endings from the game's text; reputation and gifts from the game code.

Pick one of three
You can only pick the Security choice if your Security reputation meets the requirement shown on its label. How Security reputation and reporting work is on the Security and Wanted List page.
There is no wrong answer for your run. Pick the faction whose reputation you want, or pick the Black Market if you want the gift. Before he leaves, he tells you: "Before I go, I want you to have something. Pick whichever you need."
"Serpico's thank-you gift: pick one." The choices are a Storage Bay (Extended), four Module Bay Expansion Kits or two Current Converters, all second-hand.
If you report him on this visit instead, he is taken down by Security and his story ends with no final visit.
How to save Serpico
His story can end early in three places:
When he goes into hiding. He comes to your counter after being framed: "They are trying to pin everything on me. You gotta believe me!" If you report him now, Security arrives ("He's reaching! He's reaching!") and takes him down. There is no letter and no evidence after that.
When he asks for food. If you don't leave enough food at the Dumping Ground before his deadline, the paper runs "Security Officer Found Dead in the Dumping Ground", and he never comes back.
When he asks about the evidence. Reporting him on this visit also ends his story, without any of the three endings.
So to save him: ignore the Security Officer's request to report him, leave the food in time and answer his question instead of calling Security.
How to leave Serpico food at the Dumping Ground
After he goes into hiding, Georgio comes to your counter with a letter: "Georgio found a young man at the Dumping Ground." (Georgio's own visits are on our page about the customers who visit your shop.) In the letter Serpico says he was shot while escaping and a scavenger patched him up. He asks: "Can you drop off 2000 kcal worth of food at the Dumping Ground? Just leave it on the ground. I'll pick it up when no one's around." He adds that he doesn't think he will last more than 3 days.
Leave. The food you left counts toward his total when you leave, and only items in the food category count.
Your night report shows how much you have left so far: "You left … kcal of food for Serpico at the Dumping Ground", with the running total against his goal. When you reach it, you see "That should be enough food for Serpico." You can split the food over more than one trip, as long as you reach the total before his deadline.
When Serpico comes and what he wants
His visits come on set days, in this order:
First day on duty. "Hello! I am Cadet Serpico, new to Security." He wants snacks to make friends with his colleagues.
A drink. He has seen officers "taking bribes from Upper Levels, the Cartel and even revolutionaries" and needs a drink.
Good news. He has reported the corruption and an internal investigation is open. He buys food.
The Security Officer. An officer asks if you have seen Cadet Serpico, says there is a warrant for him on corruption charges and asks you to report him.
Hiding. Serpico says he is being framed and is going into the Dumping Ground. Don't report him.
The letter. Georgio brings his request for food.
The officer again. After you have left enough food, the officer says Serpico has been seen back in the Lower Levels and raises the reward. Ignore it.
The evidence. Serpico asks who should get it.
The ending. A few days later he comes back to tell you how it turned out.
Version notes and limits
This page doesn't cover whether a starting perk that limits your trips makes the food drop harder. On the open beta branch, patch notes of November 1, 2026 give Serpico one more day if you left some food each night but not enough, and let Georgio deliver food for you when he brings the letter. Those are not in the public build this page describes. We will update this page when they reach the public build.
Probably Stolen Cadet Serpico FAQ
Who should Serpico give the evidence to?
Any of the three. The Revolution and Security choices raise that faction's reputation; the Black Market choice raises Black Market reputation and also gives you a gift. Security needs enough Security reputation to pick.
